The 2nd largest Czech city, Brno is a centre of Moravian culture, surrounded by lush countryside. The twin spires of the hilltop Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul dominate the neighbouring Bishops Palace, while the nearby square houses the Moravia Museum and Reduta Theatre, both the oldest in the country.
Beneath the square is Brno Underground, a maze of medieval tunnels and cellars that once housed wine produced in the surrounding region. There is an annual wine festival here, but the largest event is the Ignis Brunensis fireworks competition by Brno Lake to the north-west, lined by trees that hide Veveří Castle.
A less grand castle - Špilberk - sits on a hill in the city centre. At its feet is Masaryk University, the 2nd largest in the Czech Republic. The city’s Mendel University is named after the genetics founder who was abbot of St Thomas’ Abbey, where a museum commemorates his work.
The nearby Brno Exhibition Centre is of functionalist design, but the most important example of this architectural style is UNESCO World Heritage-listed Villa Tugendhat. On the opposite side of the city is Masaryk Circuit, home of the Czech MotoGP.
The Brno accommodation on Booking.com includes cheap hostels near the train station, guest houses near Freedom Square and hotels by Brno-Tuřany Airport.
Very interesting city with its own unique personality.
Very interesting city with its own unique personality. Great activities for kids, such as Science museum or Observatory. Nice parks, city centre and other nice squares. I recommend Soul Bistro and Jean Paul's restaurant. Excellent food with even better service. The city centre is small so we walked everywhere with no problem.

The more you visit Brno, the better it gets. Compared to Prague, there could be no more distant twins - same state, same geographical topology, yet so much different history, mixture of cultures, peoples.

I have been to Brno a number of times and there is always something new to do. The standard of hospitality is very high - great restaurants and wine bars. To recommend one, I would choose Borgo Agnese. The city is also culturally rich - music, history, art. A fabulous city.
We felt at home, with Bea always present very kind for any need we had. The apartment was very comfortable, cozy, quiet with a wonderful balcony with a very nice and relaxing view of a woody hill and neighborhood gardens. Bea is better than a five stars hotel concierge, providing the best and most useful information on any matter we needed for. The center is easy to reach by tram which stops 200 meters from the house. We will come again for sure.
Perfect location in the city centre. Clean and comfortable beds and spacious rooms. Good breakfast and variety available. Will definitely return if I have the opportunity to visit Brno. I also recommend the restaurant underneath the hotel as food is really good. Staff is helpful although there is a language barrier.
The staff is amazing, they were super helpful and nice.
The hotel had a nice park behind it so it was great for our puppy, next to it is a mall where you can easily get water or some snacks and the bus stop is right there bus which will take you directly to the city center.another plus free parking
We booked two rooms, we got those next to each other, we appreciated that.
Our rooms were clean and looked like in the advertisement.
The buffet breakfast was simple, but good.
There is a tram line in from of the hotel, providing direct connection to the city centre.
Location is great 5-10 minutes walk from the main TRAIN station as well as the GRAND hotel bus station... next to each other. Our room was looking out onto Zelny Trh (vegetables & fruits)
Old colonial charm was why we chose this hotel.
Very nice hotel and spa, staff was very professional and welcoming!! We will be coming often for sure!
Also compliments to the chef(s), the food in the restaurant including the cocktails was amazing!
Truly, a gem of Brno!
This is my second stay in the Grand hotel Brno, this hotel has so much character and the staff are very helpful, in particular Manuela who checked me in and helped me with directions in the city.
I loved the vibe in the hotel. Continental is not a simple hotel. It's more like a monument. The hotel is unique and very interesting from an architectural point of view. Very good breakfast.
The hotel was a short ride on tram/bus from the city centre. The staff were friendly and the room was clean and tidy if a bit on the small side. The hotel was quiet without constant noise.
The hotel is lovely, and the rooms are big. The bed is so comfortable! Staff friendly and breakfasts are great. Location is perfect for the city centre. Would definitely recommend.
Someone clearly thought of guests and their comfort while setting up this hotel. It's all the little details here and there that make you feel welcome. Breakfast was extraordinary.
I couldn't stayed in that hotel because when I arrived there the receptionist said me that she couldn't give me a room even though there were 5 room available on the Booking
Good location with the centre of town easily accessible - the hotel is close to tram stop, about 15 min ride downtown. One of the rooms (business) was ok.
Very clean, smart hotel, friendly helpful staff. A good place to stay. Quiet location, plenty of parking. Regular bus to city centre. Lovely breakfast.
